Rusty Hardin's Comments About Jeremy
Jeremy grew up in the Houston area until he headed to Yale University and earned an undergraduate degree in Ethics, Politics, and Economics. After returning to Texas and graduating from the University of Texas with both a law degree and a master’s degree in public affairs, he moved to Washington, D.C. and joined the international firm of Hogan & Hartson, which later became Hogan Lovells. Jeremy spent more than 10 years in Washington, seeking every available opportunity to appear in court and developing a reputation as a compelling oral advocate and a tireless worker.
Jeremy represented a wide range of corporations and individuals in litigation involving insurance coverage, health care and health insurance, sovereign immunity, civil rights, and disputes with the U.S. Government in civil and administrative proceedings. He also has many Hogan stories to tell, from mooting Chief Justice John Roberts to developing business for the firm’s offices in China (Jeremy speaks Mandarin and also served as a U.S. State Department intern in Beijing).
Jeremy moved back to Houston and joined our firm in June 2010. He exudes a real passion for his work and, more importantly, for the needs of his clients. Jeremy also is a leader, and we are looking forward to watching his practice grow as he establishes ties with the Houston bar and community as a whole. Jeremy and his wife Wendi have known each other since middle school, and they have been together since they started college. Those logistics were not always easy, as Wendi attended Texas A&M while Jeremy was at Yale; then she went to Yale Medical School when he came back to study law in Austin. Wendi is a practicing obstetrician, and Jeremy and Wendi have two daughters, Meridian and Talulah.
Jeremy also is a baseball fanatic and quite possibly the only lawyer in Houston who keeps a baseball bat in his office that he fondly holds while pondering weighty legal issues. Fortunately for his mental health, his office looks out on the home of the Houston Astros, Jeremy’s favorite team.
